WHY GENDER BASED BUDGETING FY2023/2024?
A gender mainstreaming method called gender responsive budgeting (GRB) is used to create gender-sensitive budget analysis, budgets, and policies. Gender Responsive Budgeting, sometimes also referred to as “Gender Budgeting,” is an “approach founded on the assumption that budgets are not gender neutral and that the decisions governments make about how to generate and allocate resources can reinforce, perpetuate, or alleviate gender inequality.” Elson & Sharp, 2012
